You could run into a few traffic delays around Downtown Hickory over the next week. Street resurfacing started yesterday at 12th Avenue NW (Geitner Road) from Old Lenoir Road to Sixth Street NW. Work will take place between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. The project is expected to take about a week to complete. For the safety of motorists and street crews, drivers are asked to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through the area.
