Also in Catawba County Superior Court this week, a Newton man was sentenced to 12 to 19 years for his conviction of multiple sexual offenses involving a child.
Randy Eugene Dula will have to register as a sex offender for a period of 30 years upon his release from prison.
The offenses occurred during a period between March 1, 2014, and July 31, 2014, when the then-6-year-old female victim told a family member what had happened to her on multiple occasions.
