Flu cases on the rise

According to CDC’s latest FluView report (Dec 15 – 21), national levels of flu-like illness activity continue to increase and have been elevated for seven weeks.  CDC estimates that flu has caused at least 4.6 million flu illnesses, 39,000 hospitalizations and 2,100 deaths so far this season.  They recommend Practicing everyday preventive actions like staying home when you are sick, covering your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough, and washing your hands regularly.  While these actions may help slow the spread of flu, a flu vaccine is the single best way to prevent seasonal flu. It’s not too late to get a flu vaccine this season.
