The Caldwell County Economic Development Commission held its 2019 Celebration Luncheon on Tuesday in Lenoir. Dr. Mark Poarch received the Herman Anderson Award. Poarch is President of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. The Herman Anderson Award was established to recognize local leaders in economic development.
Bernhardt Furniture received the Industry of the Year Award. In 2019 the Lenoir based company marked 130 years in business and is now under its fourth generation of Bernhardt family leadership. The company is very active in the community and has a foundation that supports a variety of local causes through volunteer efforts and financial support.
