A chase that started in Burke County Wednesday afternoon ended near Hickory but not before speeds reached in excess of 100 miles per hour. It all started when the driver sideswiped another car then ran from police. Troopers were able perform a PIT maneuver and get the car stopped. The driver ran but was caught a short time later.
