Morganton Public Safety officers are asking for the public’s help for information about a hit and run accident around 6:30 Sunday evening. A bicyclist was struck on Independence Blvd by what is believed to have been a dark colored truck. The truck may have a broken headlight and some damage to the front end. No information was available about the extent of the bicyclists injuries but they were transported to the hospital by Burke County EMS. Anyone with information is asked to contact Morganton Public Safety department.
