Caldwell County health officials say they have seen a marked increase in the cases of whooping cough being reported over the past few months. They are urging everyone to get the vaccine if they have not had the recommend amount of doses.
Whooping cough is a highly contagious, but preventable bacterial infection that causes uncontrollable coughing.
