A driver who fled from police Tuesday was killed when he collided head on with another car in Caldwell County. According the NC Highway Patrol, Lenoir police had initiated the chase after attempting to pull the driver over for speeding. A short time later the car crossed the center line in a curve on Hartland Road and struck another vehicle head on. The suspect, 42 year old Falando Francis of Lenoir was killed in the crash. The occupants of the other car were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
