Local Schools Work on Re-Opening Plans

The Catawba County Board of Education has approved the framework for students return to school on August 17th under the States Plan B.  Most students will be attending in person two days a week and learning remotely 3 days a week.  Catawba county is also offering a fully remote option for parents who are not comfortable sending the children in person.  Parents will begin receiving information packets next week with more details of the choices available.

Caldwell County Schools Superintendent Dr. Don Phipps posted a message on social media addressing how their district would reopen by combining both online and in person instruction.  Educators are working on  the official reopening plan which will be announced next week after school board approval.

The Burke County Board of Education will hold an emergency meeting today at noon to discuss and approve the plan on how that district plans to return to school this fall.  That meeting will be broadcast live on the Burke County Schools Facebook page.
