The Burke County Sheriffs Office has released the identity of a man who was shot and killed earlier in the week in Connelly Springs. It happened early Wednesday morning on Knob Ave, when police received a call about loud yelling and gunshots. 45 year old Robert Winston J Perkins Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man had also been shot and was transported to Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem where he was listed in stable condition. Police have interviewed a man and woman who had left the scene. Investigators will turn their findings over to the District Attorneys office to determine if any charges will be filed.
