Several schools in Catawba County were placed on what police called a soft lockdown Tuesday as they searched for a suspect they were chasing. Catawba County deputies were trying to stop the vehicle after suspecting the driver of possessing narcotics. The driver crashed on Snow creek Road and fled on foot. Snow Creek Elementary school and several others in the area were put on lockdown for a short time while deputies tried to locate the suspect. The person was not caught and the investigation is continuing.
