Fatal Accident Victim Identified

One person was killed early Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Catawba County.  The accident happened near Rock Bark Road around 3:45 am.  According to the Highway Patrol, 47-year-old Sarah Ann McKinney of Asheville lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail.  The car came to rest facing the wrong direction on the interstate and was struck head on by another car.  The driver of the other car had serious injuries and was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center.   I-40 East bound was closed for several hours Monday morning while the accident scene was cleared.
