Schools Discuss Plan A Options

unnamed-6

The Burke County Board of Education will meet on Sept. 28 at 6pm to discuss Plan A as an option for Burke County Public Schools elementary schools.
Late last week NC Gov. Roy Cooper announced that elementary schools in North Carolina could choose to operate under Plan A for full, in-person learning starting Oct. 5.

Burke County says The Plan A option for elementary schools would still require students and staff to wear cloth face coverings practice social distancing and have Daily temperature and COVID-19 symptom screenings.  Moving to Plan A would not affect the Burke Virtual Academy and parents could continue to have a 100 percent virtual learning option.

School Officials in Caldwell County are already in the process of discussing how changing from full remote learning to Plan A would work.  They say whenever the transition occurs, there will still be a virtual option offered to students and regardless of the instructional plan being used, health and safety precautions will continue.
