The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the man that died in the shooting in Sawmills. Cedrick Jovon Harshaw 18, of Granite Falls. The incident took place at the Market Basket on Hwy 321 A. According to the report there was an altercation at the store involving employees from Bolick’s Tire nearby. Employees had been threatened by the man with a gun. Harshaw apparently fired his gun hitting one of the Bolick workers, two of whom returned fire and Harshaw was hit. The employee was treated and released. The Sheriff’s Office is now working with the District Attorney’s Office.
