The Burke County Health Department reports 18.2% of the county has been fully vaccinated for coronavirus. On Wednesday, everyone in North Carolina over 16 will be eligible to get the vaccine. There are currently 15 people hospitalized with Covid 19 in Catawba County, 7 in Caldwell County and 6 people in the hospital in Burke County.
