Courtney Lee Smith of Morganton was sentenced last week to three to five years in prison after pleading guilty to first degree burglary, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy according to the Morganton News Herald. In September of 2015, Smith drove three teenage boys to a victim’s home instructed them who to rob and how to carry out the crime. The Hickory Daily Record reports Smith stayed in the car while the boys carried out the crime and drove them to the hospital after one received a gunshot wound.
