A Morganton man faces multiple felony charges including kidnapping and assault after a woman was found injured and being held against her will yesterday morning. The News Herald Reports Donald Silvester Cunningham Jr. was charged after officers responded to check the welfare of a woman because her family had not heard from her in several days. Once at the home Officers heard screams for help coming from inside. A woman with apparent injuries, a child and two other adults were found on the second floor. Cunningham was found hiding behind a shelf in the basement. The victim was transferred to the hospital for her injuries and Cunningham was held at the Burke-Catawba Detention Confinement Facility with no bond.
