Community Rallies to Help Woman with Cancer

A community rallied together to repair the roof of a woman with cancer. The News Herald reports several churches in the Connelly Springs area, along with family, friends, and neighbors, joined forces to help Rev. Danny Townsend and his wife Michelle. Michelle was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and had recently learned it had spread to her brain. The roof had been in place for 40 years and only patched when there was an issue. According to C.D. Lowman, owner of CD Lowman Construction, a woman from Connelly Springs Baptist, who wants to remain unnamed, paid for the roofing.
