A captain with the Burke County Emergency Services has been suspended. Captain Jimmie Winter was suspended effective today without pay for one 24-hour shift as a result of an investigation of an anonymous complaint/allegation. The News Herald reports the Human Resources director would not reveal the reason for Winter’ suspension and it is unclear what the investigation concerns at this point.
