A Morganton man was charged after threatening a woman in front of police on Monday. Officers responded to a disturbance at a home off of Concord Street and escorted Eric Whisnant out of the house. Whisnant claimed to have been sucker punched by the homeowner. The News Herald reports that while officers spoke to the homeowner Whisnant spit blood on the officer that was holding him leading to his confinement at the Burke-Catawba Detention Center.
