A man found dead from an apparent accidental drowning Saturday was identified as a suspect in a high-speed chase. Douglas Cox of Morganton was found after his sister reported him missing on Monday. The News Herald reports Cox was involved in a vehicle chase with McDowell County Sheriff’s Office that Crossed into Burke County and ended when he jumped into the Catawba River.
