The State Court of Appeals has rejected Caldwell Memorial Hospital’s attempt to block a surgery center in Valdese. Blue Ridge Healthcare System received approval to develop a surgical center similar to RiverCrest Medical Park which is currently being built by Caldwell Memorial in Granite Falls. The News Topic reports the court rejected Caldwell Memorial’s arguments saying they could not provide enough evidence they would be harmed except by competition.
