According to the News Topic, Sawmills town officials say that changing the town’s form of government would not change how it operates, at least one Sawmills resident opposes it. That citizen spoke at a public hearing Tuesday night against the proposal to switch from having a town administrator to a town manager, saying that he believed the town council would lose too much authority. The council voted to add the resolution approving the change to the agenda for the next council meeting in August. At that time there would be a final vote to amend the town charter.
