On 2:51 a.m., January 9, 2020, Burke County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 1885 Skyland Dr., Lot #3, Morganton, regarding a reported self-defense shooting. Deputies found Leonard Evan Loehr, DOB 9/3/77, of 2078 U.S. Hwy 64, NC deceased at the scene. Burke County Detectives are interviewing others who were at the scene. Additional information will be provided as the investigation continues.
