Response to Threatening Messages on Social Media

(Lenoir) — The investigation that began at midnight in response to threatening messages toward the Caldwell County Schools, primarily Hudson Middle School, has led federal authorities to identify the offender who is a juvenile residing in Texas.
Local law enforcement agencies have worked closely with federal agents to identify and locate the perpetrator. After questioning the juvenile, authorities determined that there was no credible threat against any Caldwell County School. Charges will be coordinated with district attorneys and law enforcement.
Additional law enforcement presence may continue on specific school campuses tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 18, which is a regular school day. Students are encouraged to be present.
