Police are looking for two men and a woman connected to a reported assault and attempted robbery on Interstate 40 in Morganton Sunday. A man reported he had stopped to help what appeared to be a woman with car trouble when two men appeared, hot him with a tire iron and demanded money. The man fought back and called police. The attackers fled in a white van with partial license plate of TAZ3. Anyone with information is asked to contact Morganton police, the Burke County Sheriffs Office of the Highway Patrol.
