Charges Filed in Crossbow Attack

Update May 14, 2020:

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, Siegfred Albert Jackson was charged with Felonious Assault with a Deadly

Weapon with Intent to Kill, Inflicting Serious Injury. There is not an updated medical status on the victim,

Cameron Wayne Dellinger. Joseph Jackson Reece has also been located.

Update:

At 1:15 p.m., the Burke Sheriff’s Office located Siegfred Albert Jackson on the back porch of 1410 Cape Hickory Road,

approximately ½ mile from the scene. He was taken into custody without resistance.

Details:

On 5/13/20 at approximately 9:44 a.m., the Burke County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 2138 Hunterwood Dr.,

Hickory regarding a victim who had been shot with a crossbow. Deputies found the victim who had been shot in the

head in serious condition. Burke County EMS transported the unidentified victim to the hospital, and he was airlifted to

a trauma center. Burke Deputies and detectives are still on the scene and are looking for Siegfred Albert Jackson (known

as “Ziggy”) as a person of interest. He was last seen on foot leaving the scene and believed to be wearing a dark ball cap,

dark hoody and blue jeans. He may be accompanied by Joseph Jackson Reece, DOB: April 10, 2000.

The incident occurred at the home of Siegfred Albert Jackson.

A reverse 911 BOLO message was sent in a 5-mile radius from the scene.

Although the crossbow was left at the scene, both men should be considered as dangerous.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who sees or knows the whereabouts of these men to call the Burke

County Emergency Communications Center at 828-438-5500 or 911 if they are calling from within Burke County.
