Hickory police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon on 1st St. SW. Police found several shell casings in the roadway but no victim. A short time later a man with a gunshot wound was discovered in a car on 3rd St. NE asking for help. When officers arrived they found 30 year old Donald Simpson who was pronounced dead at the scene. A few minutes later police received another call about another gunshot victim who had arrived at Frye Regional Medical Center. 25 year old Miquel Greylen Robinson had been shot once and was treated and later released for his injuries. Investigators determined both men were shot at the same location on 1st St. SW. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Hickory police.
