As Covid 19 numbers continue to fall and fewer are getting tested, Caldwell UNC’s drive thru testing site will close at the end of March. The daily average for tests at the site outside Quest for Life, was between 200 and 250 per day. The drive thru opened in March of 2020. Over 46,300 tests have been completed. Governor Cooper stated this week that everyone will be able to vaccinated by May 1st. In Catawba County there are currently 27 hospitalized with coronavirus, 14 in Caldwell and currently 3 people in the hospital in Burke County.
