The City of Lenoir recently repaved several streets around town and contractors have more to do. The Public Works Department also plans to pave more greenway soon.
Last week, contractors paved Link Place, Peacehaven Place, Lutz Street, and Sherlee Street. Today, contractors are paving Victoria Court and Victoria Lane. They should be finished up in a day or two. Next to be paved is Commercial Court and sections of Underdown Avenue, Virginia Street, College Avenue, Shasta Lane, and Swanson Drive.
Public Works Director Jared Wright said he thinks the City will be able to complete the remaining streets with available funds.
In addition to streets, Public Works staff plans to pave more sections of Greenway. Staff will pave a section of greenway at Mulberry Park, the section between Sherlee Street and Severt Circle, and the section between Harper Avenue and Morganton Boulevard, which is part of the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail (OVNHT).
