A man died Saturday after a fall in the Linville Gorge. The man was hiking with his son near Babel Tower. The Burke County Search and Rescue Team responded around 1230 pm. It is believed the man was in his 50’s and fell 40-60 feet. No ropes were used. The North Carolina Helo-Aquatic Team helped recover the body. The U S Forest Service is investigating. The name of the deceased was not released.
