Donation
The Education Foundation, Inc. of Caldwell County recently donated 10, brand new Chromebooks to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. Currently, only four people can use the MLK computer lab at one time due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Vehicle Fire
A vehicle fire closed South Sterling Street on Monday around 2 pm. The road was closed from Old NC 18 to East Parker Road till around 5pm. The Morganton Department of Public Safety responded. No further details
Fugitive Charge
A fugitive from Georgia was arrested in Hickory. Roger Junior Ussery 40, faces felony grand jury arrest as a fugitive facing extradition to another state, among other charges. He was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility
