An early Monday shooting is under investigation in Burke County. The Burke County Sheriffs Office responded to a location on Hwy 18 South at Camp Meeting Rd in Connelly Springs around 330 am Monday. A white male was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was airlifted to the hospital. The shooter had left the scene. No names were released.
