The town of Sawmills has purchased land for a new town hall. The property is located at 4077 Baird Drive across from Baird Park. The cost of the land was $625,000 according to the Town Manager Chase Winebarger.
Valdese tax rates will remain at 54.5 cents per $100 property value in the proposed budget. The water and sewer rates are set to increase by 3%. There will be a public hearing on the budget June 28th at 6pm at town hall.
