The Burke County School Board voted to mandate masks for students. A meeting was held last night. The board had previously voted 5-2 for optional mask use. The vote last night was 6-1 for mandatory masks. Wendi Craven was the only member to vote against the measure. The board will reevaluate the situation monthly. Caldwell County schools remain with an optional mask policy.
