The City of Hickory has canceled Oktoberfest for the second year in a row due to Covid 19 concerns. The event had been set for October 8-10th. Over 100,000 people have attended the 3 day event in years past. The announcement to cancel was made on the city’s facebook page. As of Friday Catawba Valley’s Medical Center had 77 people admitted.
Caldwell County Schools will now require facemasks in the buildings until further notice. The School Board recently reversed their decision. Other area schools had already voted similarly.
