A hearing is set for Thursday at 2pm for the Board of Elections in Burke County concerning incumbent Mayor Gary McClure of Rutherford College. Michael Duncan challenged that McClure did not live in the town. McClure has a home in Rutherford College and another in Avery County. The board voted 3-2 last month to allow Jim Jacuman to remain on the ballot in Valdese after a similar issue was raised.
