A Morganton man was charged after a chase. 36 year old John Allen Merrell Jr faces trafficking methamphetamine among other charges. He was placed in jail in Burke County under a $25,000 secured bond. A court date is set for January 3rd. The NC Hwy Patrol made the arrest.
