An investigation is underway after a man died in jail. 61 year old John Howard Lambert of Drexel, was arrested December 24th on assault on a female charges. He was found unresponsive on December 26th at the Burke County Jail. Medical treatment was administered, but he was declared deceased. The SBI is investigating, and the District Attorney is reviewing the case.
