A Burke County school was on soft lockdown Monday. East Burke Middle School was placed on soft lockdown around 9:16 am for about 20 minutes. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office had advised the move due to a call of a suspicious person in the area. The person was never on campus and no further incident was reported.
