A bus burned at a daycare Monday. The bus caught fire at TenderCare Child Development Center in Mountain View. There were no injuries reported. According to the Catawba County Deputy Fire Marshal, the bus caught fire while being started at the end of school. The facility is located off NC 127 South of Hickory.
In a separate incident, a fire occurred on 1st Ave SE in Hickory on Sunday. The Hickory Fire Department responded along with Catawba County EMS. Heavy smoke damage was done to the single-story home. The Red Cross is assisting the resident. The fire was determined to be caused by flammable material to close to an electrical heater.
