A building was destroyed by fire in Alexander County. Units from Hiddenite, Bethlehem, Ellendale and Wittenburg all responded Wednesday afternoon. A NC Forest Service Ranger said the cause was an escaped debris burn. A building containing antiques was lost on Whitson Lane off Hwy 127.
