The name has been released in a fatal crash from last week. 64 year old Brent Hardy died after he was taken to UNC Health Blue Ridge. The wreck occurred when Hardy crossed the center line hitting another pick up truck head on while traveling on US 70 in Glen Alpine between Dysartville and Kathy Rds. The Highway Patrol reports no signs of obvious impairment and speed did not seem to be a factor. Troopers will contact the medical examiners office to verify a possible medical condition.
