Several fire departments from Burke and McDowell Counties responded to a campground fire at Lake James. The structure fire was located off Bear Cliff Village Drive. There were no injuries reported. 2 campers and a wooded area caught fire and several other structures were damaged by heat. 3 golf carts and a utility terrain vehicle were also damaged. The cause is still under investigation.
