MORGANTON – The Morganton Department of Public Safety announced that Jason Whisnant was named the Chief of Morganton Public Safety. Whisnant was sworn-in on Tuesday, August 30. He has 25 years of experience with the Morganton Public Safety. Prior to working with the City of Morganton, he served with Glen Alpine Police Department and Burke County Sheriff’s Office. He brings with him his vast experiences in law enforcement. Whisnant is also a certified firefighter.
