U.S./Hwy 321 South Bridge over the Catawba River will be closed for three weekends in September. According to the NCDOT, both directions of traffic will stream in a one-lane pattern on the U.S./Hwy 321 North bridge.
The press release stated that drivers should plan for weekend delays during the following weekends in September
- From 7 p.m. on Friday Sept. 9 to 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1
- From 7 p.m. on Friday Sept. 16 to 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19
- From 7 p.m. on Friday Sept. 23 to 7 a.m. on Monday Sept. 26
Repairs are expected to be complete by Nov. 30.
Per the press release, the rehabilitation is part of a $1.9 million bridge project designed to lengthen the service life of the bridge. The existing surface will be removed and replaced with a latex modified concrete.
