TIP LEADS TO ARREST IN INJURED DOG CASE

LENOIR – An arrest has been made after an investigation was initiated following a tip to identity the person who may have been involved in an injured dog that was reportedly abandoned last Saturday (Sept. 3) in the area of Abington Road and Valley View Circle.
According to a press release from Caldwell County government, following an arrest warrant obtained by Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement officers, the Lenoir Police Department and the NC State Highway Patrol assisted in the arrest of twenty-one-year-old Bethany Marie Beaver of Lenoir.
The case caught local resident and media attention after Caldwell County government posted a picture of the dog on their Facebook page with the following description:
“Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement Division – North Carolina needs your help identifying the person(s) who injured the dog pictured below. The dog was found in the area of Valley View Circle and Abington Road on Saturday. The dog underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.”
A $3500 reward was offered by Piedmont Animal Rescue for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s).
