HICKORY – The Hickory Metro Convention Center will be expanding.
Currently, the Hickory Metro Convention Center is approximately 100,000 square feet. The expansion plan was approved during a multi-council meeting on Thursday, September 15. Once the expansion is complete the center will be roughly 165,600 square feet. The $14 million dollar project has been awarded Hickory Construction as low bidder. The news release stated that the project will be paid for by Hickory and Conover room occupancy tax revenues.
