BURKE COUNTY – A man is dead following an early morning shooting last Friday (Sept. 16) in Burke County on Flat Gap Road.
According to a press release, Howard Gene Cook was shot after he allegedly entered a house, obtained a firearm from inside the home and pointed it at the homeowner. The homeowner reportedly fired and struck Cook.
