MORGANTON – The Morganton Department of Public Safety is investigating the death of a young man who was reportedly found lying on the side of the road unresponsive on Ross St. in Morganton on Monday, Sept. 22.Β Β
The public safety report stated that officers who responded to the mid-afternoon call (3:30 p.m.), found twenty-six-year-old Austin Michael Collins lying on the grass, unresponsive, and not breathing.Β Burke County EMS responded to the call and Collins was pronounced deceased.Β Β Β
Foul play is not suspected at this time, the investigation into the cause of death is continuing.Β Β
